Ed Temple’s Wife Charlie Dies
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008Charlie Temple, the wife of legenadary women’s track coach Ed Temple, died Saturday at the age of 79.
Ed Temple was the track coach of champion Wilma Rudolph, who guided her to triple Gold medal glory in the 1960 Olympics in Rome. Ed Temple was the resident track coach at the Tennessee State University before retiring in 1993 and was married to Charlie for 57 years.
Charlie Temple became a mother away from home to many of the Tennessee Tigerbelles track team , including Wilma Rudolph.
